Music Spotlight: ‘Oraculu’ by Oraculu

A hypnotic smorgasbord of sound and texture residing in a unique space encompassing jazz, trip-hop, and electronica.

I came across the album ‘Oraculu’ by Oraculu (2025) after seeing a promo for the group’s upcoming release due out in September 2026. The teaser presented for that sounds amazing, but in the meantime I was captivated by the hypnotic smorgasbord of sound and texture of ‘Oraculu’. Beats build. Orchestration evolves. There’s a definite though-line between some of the great psychedelic fusion of the late 60s/early 70s to a more modern trip-hop/dance feel. The repetition is contagious and is complimented by the daring harmonic jams that run across the top.

Oraculu is the brainchild of Two Thou, a music producer from Sardinia, Italy. Active across musical genres for over a decade, Two Thou’s music resides in a unique space encompassing jazz, house, and electronica. This album was born in Berlin with help from a wide ranging group of equally talented jazz players. The production matured and grew throughout a cold winter in rural Sardinia, finally mastered and pressed to vinyl via NYC and Chicago and released in September 2025.

“Jazz and electronic music both emerged as inventions, and it seems to me they’re both suggesting us to keep inventing.” – Two Thou

There’s a spirituality to the music, emphasized by the emotive whispery vocals of Monica Mussungo on ‘Oraculu’ and ‘Altair’ and the repetitive, deep poetry of Sonny Daze on ‘The Rivers’. The scope of the musicianship is varied, adept, and fantastic. The diversity of style blends nicely, creating a meditative listening experience. Two Thou and company have created an original and inventive collection of sounds.

“Expect to oscillate.” – Two Thou

I honestly can’t wait for the release of their next album ‘Watch The Change’ in September 2026. For now, you can order ‘Oraculu’ and pre-order ‘Watch The Change’ on Bandcamp.

Cheers!
